French Black Copper Marans

Best known for their chocolate brown eggs, Black Copper Marans are a beautiful heritage breed of chicken that was initially bred as a delicacy poultry meat in France. We consistently work to improve our line, through genetic diversity and removing birds that don’t meet the quality we look to maintain. Our BCM eggs are very high quality, usually achieving a color standard of between 5-7 and sometimes we get an 8 or better, with very dark brown speckle. Though egg color varies by the time from a hen’s last molt.
